It's prom season and even celebrities are getting into it.
Benny Blanco is proving once again the saying "he wanted to, he would," this time ensuring that Selena Gomez could take part in the time honored tradition of prom, made even more special as she never got to go to her own when she was a teenager. Blanco previously revealed that he had surprised his fiancée with her very first prom for his own 37th birthday celebrations.
On Thursday (April 23), Blanco took to his Instagram to share a video — set to Bill Withers' "Just The Two Of Us" — of him setting up the perfect prom experience for his fiancé, dressing to the nines in a tuxedo and even renting a limo to drive the couple to the mall so they could take "prom photos" together. For her part, Gomez chose a beautiful strapless pink high-low gown paired with black tights, heeled boots and a black choker necklace.
At one point as the limo navigates Los Angeles traffic, Blanco seemingly chatted with someone nearby, smiling as he told them "we're going to prom."
As the pair posed for photos, with Gomez leaning on a white pillar with Blanco by her side, the producer wrote on the video that "it was more fun than either of us expected it to be..." He then shared some of the final products of the photoshoot, including Gomez grinning hard as she sat on her fiancé's back, Blanco sitting on the ground holding her leg as she stood with her hands on her hips, and even a stereotypical prom pose with Blanco standing behind Gomez with his arms around her waist as they lovingly gazed at each other.
They appeared to round out the total prom package by switching into comfier clothes to grab a bite to eat somewhere in the mall.
The sweet prom surprise went over well not just with Gomez but with fans and friends who were quick to show their support in the comments. "The greenest flag to ever be flown!!!!!" one commenter gushed while another joked, "Man in love is my fav genre." Even other celebrities weighed in on the big day, like Twilight star Taylor Lautner who wrote, "THIS IS INCREDIBLE" and producer and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder who said, "GLAMOUR SHOTS GANG GANG."
